In 2017, John Sears debuted the first championship series in the near 10-year history of X275 Drag Radial. The season battle was long and difficult for all the teams involved but in the end, Eric Moore from Sanger, Texas emerged victorious with his turbocharged Ford Mustang. Kenny Hubbard with the nitrous oxide huffing Chevrolet Nova was a close second while Phil Hines brought in third on the sheet with his supercharged combination.
For the 2018 edition, Neal Chance Racing Converters and Precision Turbo & Engine have signed on as the presenting sponsors of the championship series along with help from Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels, VP Racing Fuels, Vortech Superchargers, Brodix and G3 Performance Products. The top ten points earners from 2017 are receiving their own championship number place marking their 2017 finishing position for the 2018 season, making the top ten recognizable to the fans and other racers.
John Sears has put together, yet again, one of the tightest and most competitive classes in drag racing today with the X275 rule book and series schedule that once again includes the OSCR franchise. Only in 2018, we will be a month later in the season on April 18-22nd and the event will be held at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the first X275 event in history at Beech Bend!
The team at Speed Promotions, LLC is extremely excited to be a part of the X275 Championship Series yet again for the 2018 season. Oklahoma’s Clint Downs took home the win last season and grabbed a handful of points in his quest for the championship and also took home a huge $10,000 to Win purse. Once again, the $10,000 to Win pay day is sitting atop the X275 category, thanks to huge support from M&M Transmission, Motion Raceworks and SpeedTech Nitrous. Make sure your plans are made, hotels are booked and vacation is accounted for at work – the Holley EFI Outlaw Street Car Reunion V will be one of the top chances to gain valuable points for your chance at X275 championship glory by the end of the season. Want to be a champion like Eric Moore? You can’t get the championship without going through the Outlaw Street Car Reunion first!
